Chinese civilization is profound and vast, with folk cultures that are long-standing and uniquely distinctive. This is particularly evident during the Mid-Autumn Festival, when various regions celebrate with their own special traditions, each reflecting local folk culture or originating from regional legends.
In Southern Fujian (Minnan region) and Taiwan, as the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, the streets and alleys come alive in the evening with the cheerful clinking of dice tumbling in porcelain bowls—a delightful sound that fills the air with festive joy. This tradition, known as "Bó Bǐng" (博饼) in Minnan and Taiwan, is also called "Bó Zhōngqiū Bǐng" (博中秋饼, "Mid-Autumn Dice Game") or "Bó Huì Bǐng" (博会饼, "Festival Dice Game").
